Sydney Fringe Festival has kicked off this month and there’s a sizeable selection of dance in the program.
Melbourne City Ballet will present a new version of Carmen, by Michael Pappalardo, which fuses ballet and opera. Carmen plays the Seymour Centre 8-12 September.
Jamestown, by Lucky Lartey is inspired by every day life in Africa and includes percussion, acrobatics and dance. Jamestown plays the New Theatre, 17-20 September.
De Quincey Company presents Moondance at Erskineville Anglican Church from 11-19 September. The tidal power of the moon over our lives is explored through a visceral layering of imagery, sound and movement.
And there’s more. Head to the Sydney Fringe Festival website to see what other dance performances are taking place, and for booking information.
