Co3, Western Australia's flagship contemporary company, is hitting the stage in March with a return season of re:Loaded – the show that launched the new company in October last year.
This time, however, ticket buyers can also watch a performance by the new Co3 Elite Training Squad prior to the main event. The Co3 Elite Training replicates the training method of the Co3 main ensemble. Dancers are selected from senior members of the Act-Belong-Commit Co:Youthensemble who intend to enter tertiary dance training. They will present a class demonstration followed by a performance of their reimagination of Raewyn Hill’s the gates.
“Driven by excellence and collaboration, Co3 is continuing to generate contemporary
conversations through dance. The Co:nnect series is a perfect way for audiences to engage with
the company beyond the traditional theatre setting,” says Hill.
re:Loaded 2016 features work by Hill, Larissa McGowan and Gavin Webber.
Following the performance, the evening will be further extended with a live performance by composer Ben Ely of an acoustic set from his new solo album, Goodbye Machine. Best known as a member of Australian rock group, Regurgitator, he composed the score for Webber’s What’s Left.
All this is included in the ticket price.
