As the end of the year approaches, so do Christmas ballet seasons. In Sydney, Sydney City Youth Ballet is preparing to present Lucinda Dunn’s Nutcracker, whilst in Melbourne, the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet (ACB) is rehearsing for Maina Gielgud’s Coppelia.

The Nutcracker is Lucinda Dunn’s first production as artistic director of Sydney City Youth Ballet. The production will be presented at the Concourse, Chatswood from Tuesday 15 December to Sunday 20 December, and will feature special guest performances from Australian Ballet dancers Chengwu Guo and Ako Kondo. ACB's production of Maina Gielgud’s Coppelia will be presented at Arts Centre Melbourne, Hamer Hall, Friday 18 December. Coppelia will feature 65 dancers and 65 musicians on stage, including international guest artists. Bookings may be made at www.artscentremelbourne.com.au
