Dancer and choreographer Carly Sheppard is one of five arts professionals selected to participate in the British Council’s Accelerate program. Accelerate is a leadership skills development program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders working in the creative industries.
An emerging performance artist who specializes in dance and choeography, Sheppard is based in Melbourne. She studied at NAISDA before completing a Bachelor of Dance at the Victorian College of the Arts. Currently Sheppard is developing her multi-disciplinary practice across forms of dance and choreography, visual art, music and theatre.
As part of the Accelerate program Sheppard and the four other successful applicants will undergo tailored leadership programs in Australia and also travel to the UK for professional placements and mentoring designed to develop their chosen creative vocation. For more information click here.
