A highlight of the forthcoming Brisbane Festival is the Australian premiere of Israel's Vertigo Dance Company with its stunning work, Mana.

The artistic director of the festival, Noel Staunton, is very excited to be bringing Vertigo to Australia for the first time. “I think they’re one of the most interesting companies in the world at the moment,” he says. “They have travelled widely, but they haven’t been to Australia. The company is very Israeli – raw and very expressionistic. They have a wonderful sense of pacing; they’re not pretty but have a wonderful rawness and energy. I think Israeli dance has very distinctive DNA.”
