Binge Bangarra!

Following the cancellation of performances of SandSong: Stories from the Great Sandy Desert in Sydney and Bendigo, Bangarra Dance Theatre was able to perform in Canberra to sold-out audiences and is still hopeful of continuing the rest of its national tour to Queensland and Victoria.

The company is currently quarantining in the Northern Territory for 14 days before entering Queensland, thanks to the support from the Qld and Federal governments and the Qld Performing Arts Centre. Due to quarantine arrangements, it has moved its season at QPAC from August 13 – 14 to August 16 – 21. The company plans to continue its season at Arts Centre Melbourne as scheduled from August 27 to September 4. Last year’s performances in Brisbane and Melbourne were cancelled, so the company is looking forward to finally being able to share this work, which is jointly choreographed by Stephen Page and Frances Rings.

In the meantime, get your Bangarra fix through a fascinating six-part series on the company now available on ABC Iview. Called Bangarra's World, the doco go takes the viewer behind the scenes, out back and on the bus as the company goes on tour.
