Bangarra Dance Theatre has announced that its next production, “Dance Clan 3”, will be made up of an all-female choreographic team, with four of the company’s senior female dancers each creating a new work.  The four choreographers are Deborah Brown, Yolande Brown, Tara Gower and Jasmin Sheppard.

“Dance Clan 3” will be presented at part of Corroborree Sydney, a new festival of visual and performing arts, showcasing the stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.  The inaugural festival will be held over 11 days, from 14-24 November.

Bangarra is thrilled to be part of Corroboree Sydney, says the company’s executive director, Catherine Baldwin.  “Corroboree Sydney will bring the best of Indigenous arts and culture to life in the city, situated in iconic cultural institutions around Sydney Harbour,” she comments.  “It’s a good opportunity for people to have direct access to Aboriginal artists and to experience their work, and even participate in cultural workshops and performances. Bangarra is proud to be associated with Corroboree Sydney and we welcome everyone into our home at Walsh Bay.”
