Bangarra Dance Theatre’s 2020 season will see the company present two major Australian tours.

The year will begin a tour of the company’s award-winning work Bennelong to cities and towns around Australia in February and March, including Perth (as part of Perth Festival), Albany and Karratha in Western Australia, and Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Dubbo and Rooty Hill in New South Wales.

In the second half of the year Bangarra will present Sandsong, a new work that traces the ancient memories embedded in Kimberley Country, and creates new narratives for Indigenous futures. Sandsong is guided by Elders from the Kimberley and choreographed by Bangarra’s artistic director Stephen Page and associate artistic director Frances Rings. Sandsong will open in Sydney June 11, before touring to Canberra in July, Brisbane in August, and Melbourne and Bendigo in September.
