Ballet Theatre Queensland (BTQ), the state’s premier youth ballet company, is inviting talented dancers aged 8 and over to audition for their upcoming season of Alice in Wonderland.
BTQ offers young artists a unique experience, providing training, rehearsals, and performance opportunities structured similarly to a professional ballet company. This program aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of company life, from daily classes and rehearsals to theatre etiquette, stage make-up, and hair education. Dancers will work with seasoned professionals, receive rigorous training, and perform in full-scale productions, offering a chance to develop their artistry and stage presence.
About "Alice in Wonderland"
This new production of Alice in Wonderland is a reimagining of Lewis Carroll’s classic story. Set in the 1930s, the ballet sees Alice tumble into the world behind a Hollywood sound stage. The production features original choreography by Clare Morehen, a jazz-infused score by Lucas D. Lynch, costumes by Rebekah Ellis, and sets by Josh McIntosh.
