The Australian Ballet is holding a free outdoor performance in Brisbane on Saturday 5 November. This will be the company’s only visit to Queensland this year.

A gala style program of the company’s most loved pas de deux will be on display, transforming Brisbane’s outdoor Riverstage into a ballet theatre for one magical evening.

The program will showcase a glittering array of dancers in some of ballet’s most beautiful costumes. The repertoire features many highlights, including excerpts from Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, The Merry Widow, Giselle and the emotion-packed pas de trois from Graeme Murphy’s acclaimed version of Swan Lake.

The artistic director of the Australian Ballet, David McAllister, said visiting Queensland was especially poignant after the natural disasters that had affected the region earlier this year.
