Auditions will be held for Push, a new Melbourne-based youth dance company, on Sunday March 4.
Directed by Adam Wheeler, the company will be based at Lucy Guerin Inc company studios in West Melbourne.
He is seeking a company of 20 dancers aged from 14 to 24. As company members they would take part take in weekly training sessions, fortnightly Sunday rehearsals and holiday intensives to present a major dance work later in 2012. Company members will get to work with some of Melbourne's best contemporary dance makers and teachers and be exposed to other fantastic choreographic opportunities.
Wheeler has worked with youth dance companies all over the country and has now established his own centre for youth dance, called Yellow Wheel. His It Sounds Silly, comprising a large youth ensemble, was presented last year under Chunky Move’s The Next Move series.
