For students wishing to further their dance training, there is much to be gained from attending a summer school or gaining a place in a full-time dance school. Yet to do so, requires an audition. But what if the school is too far away for you to travel -– or even on the other side of the world? This is where the DVD audition comes in.
Auditioning via DVD is becoming much more commonplace. The Royal Ballet School in London now considers up to 100 DVD auditions from students each year, according Mark Annear, the Head of Outreach and Teacher Training.
Auditioning via DVD requires preparation, planning and research. First impressions really do count. So how can you give yourself the best possible chance? It’s your future, after all!
