Audition for Chunky Move

Chunky Move is holding an open audition for professional dancers and physical performers. Opportunities are available for engagement in a large scale work to be developed and premiered in 2019.

Applicants for the audition must be:

• Adult Performers (18+). All ages over 18 will be considered and are encouraged to apply

• Available 5 - 30 August 2019 and the first 3 weeks of October 2019 for participation in performances and rehearsals in Melbourne during this time

• Have variable but rigorous performance experience in dance or another physical discipline

• Based in Melbourne. Chunky Move is unable to pay for travel costs, including for this audition.

Audition Location: The audition will take place at Chunky Move Studios at 111 Sturt St, Southbank, Melbourne, Vic.

Dates and Times: Saturday 30 - Sunday 31 March 2019 ?9:00am - 5:00pm

Audition Process:

The audition will be led by incoming Artistic Director, Antony Hamilton. Day 1 will involve an introduction and a series of exercises in smaller groups, after which some performers will be released over a number of stages. Remaining performers will be asked to return for Day 2, with further exercises, followed by an additional release of performers. Final determination of casting will occur during the following week and dancers will be notified directly to confirm this by Friday 7 April.
