Our latest issue of Dance Australia is packed with goodies.
One of our major features is about the new musical version of Strictly Ballroom, written for us by Jane Albert. Jane is one of the legendary family music publishing business, J. Albert & Son, and her uncle, Ted Albert, then managing director of Alberts, was the one who first approached Baz Lurhmann with the offer to adapt the play of Strictly Ballroom to film!
Another topic is “Making the Switch”, about dancers who have started training in one style of dance and changed to another. This chimes in with “Is dance the right career for you?, written by Kym King, a former dancer turned careers counseller.
And our leading feature is a profile of the Australian Ballet’s Juliet Burnett. Look out for her beautiful photo on our cover!
