Andy Dexterity has turned his hand to the world of Charles Schulz’s "Peanuts" for Hayes Theatre Company’s production of the musical You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.

The musical, which premiered in 1967, features Schulz’s well known characters, Charlie Brown, his kid sister Sally, blanket-hugging Linus, know-it-all Lucy, Beethoven devotee Schroeder and, of course, his best friend Snoopy. You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown covers life lessons that include the best way to fly a kite, play baseball, write a book report and combat the Red Baron.

“When first asked what I would like to direct following Rent, without hesitation I knew that it would be You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” says director Shaun Rennie. “I have always loved this funny, bright, sweet and surprisingly insightful show and have often thought that it would be a perfect fit for the intimate Hayes Theatre Co. We have been able to cast six incredibly funny and experienced comedic actors to bring the Peanuts to life, it is a dream cast, and I can’t wait to get started.”

You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown plays the Hayes Theatre Company in Potts Point, NSW, from 5 July. Bookings and more info: http://www.hayestheatre.com.au/coming-soon/you-re-a-good-man-charlie-brown.html
