Joshua Robson has been announced as the winner of the 2014 Rob Guest Endowment Award.
The award was presented to Robson at a concert which featured performances by 2013 winner Samantha Leigh Dodemaide, Kirby Burgess, Bobby Fox, The Tap Pack, Swing On This, Eddie Muliaumaseali’l, Oscar and Joshua Han, and cast members from Wicked and Strictly Ballroom the Musical.
Robson was chosen as the winner of the $20 000 prize by a panel of judges which included Nancye Hayes, Todd McKenney and Guy Simpson.
The inaugural East End Theatre District Artist Development Award, a $5000 cash prize to a promising young music theatre talent, went to Andrew Cook. The Playbill Future Prospect Award went to Daniel Assetta, who is currently performing in Wicked. This award is a $1500 cash prize to encourage the recipient to return to the competition next year.
