The Alana Haines Australasian (AHA) Awards will take place in Wellington, New Zealand, 14-17 April at St James Theatre.

The AHA Awards will see 560 contestants, ages 11-18, from throughout Australasia compete for awards totaling $400 000, including cash and international scholarships. Prizes will be awarded by an international jury from London, Germany, Canada and Australia.

The Grand Finals, which will be held Monday 17 April, will be hosted by Sir John Trimmer, and will include guest performers from Queensland, Melbourne City Ballet, New York, the Royal Ballet School and the Royal New Zealand Ballet.

The AHA Awards is a biennial event commemorating the life of Alana Haines, a promising 11 year old dancer who died in a car accident in 1989.
