The Australian Ballet School has had to defer its 2020 graduation showcase, thanks to Covid-19. Some aspects of the students' usual assessment weren't possible in 2020, hence the delay.

However, the School has developed a special training opportunity to support the students in 2021 - a Post-Graduate Year.

Offered exclusively to the Level 8 (and final) class of 2020, this optional Post Graduate Year (PGY) will provide training and performance opportunities in what is hoped will be a "Covid recovery year". The School will provide PGY students with classes, access to health and wellbeing services, and the 2021 calendar of performance opportunities including the regional tour with The Australian Ballet. Students will also have the flexibility to attend auditions and undertake professional opportunities.

At least two students, however, will not need the support. Lilla Harvey and Annabelle Watt have been accepted into the Australian Ballet.Sadly, for international students, the situation is unchanged as they await international borders to reopen to return to Australia.
