2015 sees Darwin’s Tracks Dance Company celebrating its 20th Darwin Festival season. It’s fitting, then, that this year’s production is inextricably linked to the experience of living in Darwin. Entitled Last Light, Tracks Dance latest work invites audiences to experience a Darwin sunset in a new way.

The work will be presented at the heritage site of Myilly Point Park. As the sun goes down, the audience, equipped wit headsets, will be guided through the changes in energies of the diminishing light. “Drop work, grab your sunnies and most comfortable shoes, get to the show and let go” urges co-director Tim Newth. “For one hour, starting 6.02pm on the dot, Last Light is your chance to experience the ultimate four-minute sun disappearance into the horizon in a way you’ll never forget” adds co-director David McMicken.

Awarding-winning, Melbourne-based choreographer Anna Smith is amongst the five-strong choreographic team for Last Light. The work includes an original score by composer Matt Cunliffe.

Last Light plays Myilly Point Park, 7-18 August. For more info, including bookings, head to www.tracksdance.com.au
