The 2013 West Australian Dance Awards were presented at a ceremony held last night at outdoor performance venue Bamboo in Perth.   The MC was Benazir Hussein, a former and very popular artist of West Australian Ballet, and the formalities were interspersed with performances by West Australian Ballet, Ochre Contemporary Dance Company, Tracksuit Performance Group, The Dance Collective and break crew Zou Rock.

And the winners are:

Outstanding Performance by a Female Dancer:
Jacqui Claus for Standing Bird by Sally Richardson

Outstanding Performance by a Male Dancer:
James O'Hara for Faun by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui

Outstanding Achievement in Choreography:
Emma Sandall and Cass Mortimer-Eipper for Fleck & Flecker

Services to Dance:
Claudia Alessi

Outstanding Achievement in Design/Composition for Dance:
Kynan Tan (visuals), Ben Taffe (sound design) and Craig McElhinney (musician) for Wintering by Aimee Smith

Outstanding Achievement in Regional/Community Dance:
Sandi Woo for YouTube Me Dance

Outstanding Emerging Artist:
Yilin Kong
