Emerging Female Classical Choreographer
Calling All Female Classical Choreographers!
Would you like to choreograph for the Australian Ballet?
The Australian Ballet and Sydney Opera House have joined forces with Dance Australia to offer a thrilling opportunity to an emerging female choreographer. Together we are seeking to discover and nurture up-and-coming female talent. If you’re a classically trained dancer/choreographer and would like to see your work showcased by The Australian Ballet, this could be you.
The chosen choreographer will receive a residency at the Sydney Opera House and a commission to create a work for The Australian Ballet’s 2020 Bodytorque season.
Last year’s recipient of the Emerging Female Classical Choreographer Award was AMELIA DRUMMOND, who created a work called Eisemkeit which premiered at the Southbank Theatre in Melbourne. You can learn about her experience - from residency to opening night in the video below.
Send your entries to: EFCC@danceaustralia.com.au with ‘Female Choreographer Initiative’ as your subject line.
Entries close: Friday 28th Feb 2020
