Trained at:  Australasian Dance Collective’ Pre-Professional Program

What was the most significant creative or artistic challenge you faced during your studies, and how did you navigate it? What did you learn from that experience?

The most significant creative challenge I have faced so far was performing alongside ADC’s Company Artists in Hofesh Shechter’s In your rooms for the company’s 40th Anniversary season, Blue. It was challenging to balance my studies while working as a professional artist, but the experience was so invaluable. I got to learn first-hand the realities of rehearsing, producing and staging a show, all of which has been crucial in preparing me to take the next step in my career. I was only able to make the most of this learning experience thanks to the support of my teachers and peers, and the company who were so welcoming and supportive of me.

What advice would you give to someone considering pursuing full-time dance studies at the school you attended? What are the key things they should know or prepare for?

Whether you’re dreaming of finding your place in a professional company, want to work in the freelance scene, or you’re still feeling unsure about your path, ADC’s Pre-Professional Program is incredibly valuable for all emerging dance artists as it’s tailorable to your own career ambitions. Not only will you grow as a dancer with the excellent physical training, you’ll also gain access to unparalleled professional opportunities, time with the company artists, and vital mental development.
