VCA 2020 grad screen grab

The Victorian College of the Arts’ 2020 dance graduation season is being launched on-line this year, with the works they perform being available to watch for free from the VCA’s website.

Head of Dance Carol Brown will introduce the program as well as this year’s especially resilient group of graduates and teachers, who have been able to produce this season despite Victoria’s severe Covid-19 lockdown.

Presented in collaboration with VCA Production students, the program, called "Reassemblage", consists of Return to Normal, by Chunky Move artistic director Antony Hamilton, Pile of Bones, by the artistic director of Stephanie Lake Company, Surge, by former Chunky Move artistic director Anouk van Dijk, and Sight Unseen, by VCA lecturer Linda Sastradipradja. The works have been captured by the acclaimed cinematographer James Wright (NON). “We will also showcase several other filmed works online including Meryl Tankard’s NUTI, Phillip Adams’ Origami and Caroline Meaden and Alice Dixon’s WOW”, Brown says.
