Principal Artist Lucy Green remembers looking around at the Queensland Ballet in March, 2020, and thinking that the company had never been is such great condition as they were leading up to the 60th Anniversary Gala. Then came Covid and lockdown.

Emma Sandall caught up with Lucy the afternoon before QB’s first performance of Nutcracker back in their home theatre, in December at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.

Lucy Green is a highly acclaimed Principal Artist with Queensland Ballet. She joined QB in 2017 as a soloist and was promoted to principal artist that same year. Lucy danced around the world with the Royal New Zealand Ballet and Scottish Ballet before joining Queensland Ballet. She lists her repertoire highlights as Liam Scarlett’s Dangerous Liaisons, Firebird and A Midsummer Night’s Dream; Ethan Stiefel and Johan Kobborg’s Giselle; Ben Stevenson’s Swan Lake and William Forsyth’s In the Middle Somewhat Elevated.
