Triple Bill – La Bayadère, Chaplin and Viaje de Sueños

The Australian Youth Ballet is proud to announce its inaugural full-length production, Triple Bill: La Bayadère, Chaplin, and Viaje de Sueños (Journey of Dreams), taking place on Sunday, 15 June at The Concourse Theatre.

This major production blends classical excellence with contemporary innovation — offering talented young artists a rare opportunity to perform at a professional level and be part of an exceptional creative experience.

  • La Bayadère: Experience the timeless beauty of this beloved classical ballet, featuring Queensland Ballet Principal Artists Patricio Reve and Neneka Yoshida. Their exceptional artistry, coupled with the talents of the Australian Youth Ballet’s young performers, promises a spellbinding performance.
  • Chaplin: Delve into the emotional world of Charlie Chaplin through an evocative excerpt choreographed by internationally renowned Mario Schröder, former Artistic Director of the Leipzig Ballet. This piece, staged in collaboration with the Youth Ballet dancers, invites audiences into Chaplin’s unique blend of humour and pathos.
  • Viaje de Sueños (Journey of Dreams): Choreographed by Xanthe Geevesand premiered at the Sydney Opera House, this contemporary work returns to the stage. Viaje de Sueños is a poetic exploration of imagination, aspiration, and creative spirit — a perfect finale to this inspiring Triple Bill.

“We are thrilled to share this milestone production,” said Gregor Thieler, Founding Director of the Australian Youth Ballet and Director of Tanya Pearson Academy. “It showcases the extraordinary range of our young artists and the synergy they create with world-class principal dancers and choreographers. It’s an inspiring testament to the future of ballet in Australia.”
