Following sold-out seasons at Brisbane and Sydney Festivals, Dancenorth’s daring new production Dust is now set to premiere in Melbourne as part of Monash Academy of Performing Arts, MLIVE program.

Dust takes a deep and daring dive into the idea of how — through the lottery of birth — we inherit the architecture of restriction and opportunity. Part of MLIVE’s Weightless: a Dance Series program, Dust explores whether we question, challenge, resist, build upon or transcend the social, cultural, political inheritance systems and structures created by those that came before us. As dancers attempt to agitate and illuminate the engineering of their own existence, Dust invites audiences to consider how we might scrutinise the past in order to shape the future. This audacious production is created by Dancenorth’s Artistic Director Kyle Page and Associate Artistic Director Amber Haines, featuring music by Jessica Moss (Thee Silver Mt Zion) and an architecturally designed set by the award-winning Liminal Studio.
