ASYIK Indonesian Arts and Culture Bazaar 2018

ASYIK Bazaar is an Indonesian arts, and culture celebration with an impressive line-up of leading Australian-Indonesian musicians, dancers and visual artists. In addition to the lively stage performances, the bazaar will also house its own market with delicious Indonesian food, fashion, and handicrafts.

It is a free entry and everyone is welcome!

Don’t miss the special performances from Suara Indonesia Dance, Dulwich Hill Primary Poppers led by Jack Wardana, Sanggar Saraswati, Sanggar Nusantara, Bambu Balistix, IAWA Angklung, Gita Suara Vocal Group Sydney, and Jubilate Choir.

There will be also interstate and international guest performers; Sanggar Sang Penari Melbourne, Kusuma Indonesia Community Queensland, Gede Eka Riadi from Canberra, Perth Indonesia Community and Sanggar Taruko Padangpanjang from West Sumatra. There will be a variety of activities for kids and family from henna, face painting, wayang and mask making.

Local Australian-Indonesian designers will also showcase their designs on the runway and there will be a mini art exhibition by local artists.

And don't miss children’s traditional Indonesian dress contest will be divided into two categories; A (3 to 7 yrs old) and B (8 to 12 yrs old). The winner will be crowned ‘Little Miss and Little Mr Indonesia’ and get a chance to win awesome prizes. Registration fee is $20.

Suara Indonesia Dance acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land where we live, learn and meet, the Gadigal-Wangal people of the Eora Nation, and we pay our respects to Elders and present and emerging.

ASYIK Bazaar is part of Open Inner West Festival - a 10 day multicultural festival showcasing the best of the inner west supported by the Inner West Council.
