We have ten double passes to give away to see Paris Opera Ballet performing Rudolf Nureyev’s Cinderella in cinemas around Australia, June 21-26.
For his colourful staging of Charles Perrault’s celebrated tale, set to music by Sergei Prokofiev, Nureyev’s transposes the action to a 1930s Hollywood, propelling his Cinderella under the spotlights of La La Land, and referencing the heroes of the American cinema.
With a producer for fairy godmother and a star actor as Prince Charming, Cinderella escapes her miserable destiny and sees her dreams come true in a story not without similarities with that of the choreographer, the young Tatar who became an international star.
Leading the cast for this performance are étoiles Valentine Colasante as Cinderella and Karl Paquette as The Star.
The cinema presentation includes the full performance, captured live in HD from Paris’s Opéra Bastille in late 2018, as well as exclusive behind the scenes interviews and features, hosted by Paris Opera Ballet’s Director of Dance Aurelie Dupont.
Limited season screens 21-26 June in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart and Perth cinemas: see here for participating cinemas.
