An exciting bill of new works from four of the world’s most exciting contemporary dance-makers will be presented on the big screen this June by one of the world’s most exciting dance companies -- the Paris Opera Ballet. And Dance Australia has TEN DOUBLE PASSES TO GIVE AWAY!

Audiences can witness the company’s stunning dancers performing works by Crystal Pite, James Thierrée, Iván Pérez and Hofesh Shechter in a performance that was captured live in high definition from Paris’ historic Palais Garnier in late May.

The screening will open with Frôlons, a new work from Switzerland's James Thierrée, who takes over the magnificent public areas of the Palais Garnier and introduces us to his dream-like world.

Israel’s Hofesh Shechter, often lauded for his telluric, trance-evoking dances, offers a new version of his piece The Art of Not Looking Back.

Spain’s Iván Pérez occupies the stage of the Opera for the first time with The Male Dancer, a creation for ten male dancers.
Concluding the bill is Canadian Crystal Pite's dazzling The Seasons’ Canon, set to music by Max Richter, a creation that thrilled Parisian audiences last season.

The cinema presentation includes the full performance, as well as exclusive behind the scenes interviews with the key creative talent.

THIERRÉE/PITE/PÉREZ/SHECHTER from Paris Opera Ballet screens as part of the 2017/18 Palace Opera & Ballet Cinema Season, which also features opera and ballet performances, including La Scala Ballet Company in Le Corsaire by acclaimed Canadian choreographer Anna-Marie Holmes, filmed live on the La Scala stage. A wonderful sneak preview for those curious about the company’s visit to Brisbane in November, this will screen from June 22 to 27.

The Paris Opera Ballet screens in all major Australian cities from July 6-11.
