It's getting close to Christmas, and that means The Nutcracker for ballet lovers! If you can't see the live productions, then here is the next best thing!

Event & Village Cinemas in partnership with Trafalgar Releasing is presenting a cinema program that they will screen exclusively in Australia: the Royal Opera House 2017/18 Live Cinema Season. Featuring filmed performances from the Royal Opera House in London, the program presents the very best opera and ballet from the iconic venue, captured in jaw-dropping detail for Australian audiences to enjoy as if they were there themselves.

Presented exclusively, six incredible operas and four beautiful ballets will screen across 14 Event Cinemas nationwide and five Village Cinemas in Victoria and Hobart from October 2017 - July 2018.

Coming up next is The Nutcracker, choreographed by Peter Wright to Tchaikovsky's magnificent score. Tickets are normally $20 for adults (already a bargain) but we are giving away FIVE DOUBLE PASSES!

Dates: Saturday, December 16 at 1pm, Sunday, December 17 at 1 pm and Wednesday, December 20 at 10:30 am (in NSW, Qld, SA, WA and NT) or 11 am (Vic and Tas).

Participating Event Cinemas include: George Street (NSW), Macquarie (NSW), Castle Hill (NSW), Bondi Junction (NSW), Parramatta (NSW), Cronulla (NSW), Indooroopilly (QLD), Garden City (QLD), Chermside (QLD), Pacific Fair (QLD), Earlville (QLD), Cairns City (QLD), Marion (SA), Innaloo (WA), and Casuarina (NT). Gold Class Sessions are available at the Wednesday screening dates at participating locations.

Participating Village Cinemas include: Rivoli (VIC), Knox (VIC), Geelong (VIC), Karingal (VIC) and Launceston (TAS).

Next year look out for Kenneth MacMillan’s Manon (2, 3 and 6 June) and Swan Lake (21, 22 and 25 July).
